Adam Hammer releases
new,
slightly-polished demos on “From
the Basement” EP SARTELL,
Minn. – After selling out of his “Tattooed
Folk EP,” Central Minnesota songwriter Adam Hammer is giving
listeners a preview of new music to come with the release of
the “From
the Basement” EP. "From the Basement” features five slightly-polished
demo recordings that are planned for release on two CDs due out
early 2011. “These are really pretty spectacular recordings that I’d
almost be comfortable putting on the official releases. But I’ve
got bigger things in mind at a much bigger studio for what’s
to come,” Hammer said. The songs on “From the Basement” were
written, recorded and produced by Hammer at his Hammered House
Productions basement
project studio, the same studio where the “Tattooed Folk
EP” was created. “Show after show, these are some of the songs that people
say they want to take home with them,” Hammer said. “I
keep saying, ‘The new CD’s coming,’ but I
think it’s
finally time to give fans something to tide them over until
these next CDs are released.” Four of the songs – “Starshine,” “Underwater
Love Song,” “Scared Alive” and “Wind-Up
Heart” – are planned for release on the “Broken
Like You” full-length CD. These songs
showcase Hammer’s catchy, lyrically-driven songwriting
that stands in an almost unclassifiable style of acoustic music. “The Drive,” recorded with Hammer’s “black
and blues” band Adam Hammer & the Impact, is
due out on the “Let It Burn” EP.
The Impact features Cofell on guitar and harmonica, Cody “Scribbles” Jergenson
on bass and Jon Schulte on drums.
“From the Basement” is being sold at shows
for $5 and each copy comes with a $5 off coupon toward
the purchase of the “Broken
Like You” CD when it is released. Purchasing the EP
is like partially prepaying for the upcoming full-length
release.
The CD
also is available online at www.tattooedfolk.com/merch.html.
The “Tattooed
Folk EP” is still available as a digital
download on iTunes, Rhapsody and CDBaby.com. A small handful
of CDs may be available at retailers in Minnesota. Contact: For more information or to arrange an interview, contact
